Hello everyone!! So while I was having the time of my life in Costa Rica on my honeymoon two weeks ago, I also got to spend my 26th Birthday there with my husband! It was totally romantic and was one of the most fun birthdays I have ever had.
Needless to say, it got even better when my sweet husband got me an Apple Watch. I kid you not, we were last minute packing for Costa Rica when I told him I wanted to get an Apple Watch for myself. He kept asking me if I wanted to go get one and I put it off until about 10:30 at night when I pleaded with him to go with me to get it, which he did (and this is despite the freezing cold rain happening in Dallas.) he’s seriously the most patient man ever and that’s one of the reasons why I love him!
I was going to buy it for myself, but he was adamant that he wanted to get it for my birthday. After much back and forth of no, he finally bought it for me! He got me the series 3, 38 mm rose gold watch and I absolutely love it.
I was so giddy and excited to start playing with it (and he put up with me even though it was almost midnight at this point.)
There is so much to love and learn about this watch, but here are a few of my favorite highlights.
This watch literally has almost all of my apps on it. I can go from my music, to my messages, to looking at the weather, to taking a phone call. This is the “home screen” of the watch where you can scroll through your apps and pick what you’re looking for. Now you do have to be careful, if you have bigger fingers, you run the risk of clicking the wrong item.
One of my absolute most favorite featured is the heart rate monitor! Now I don’t work out ad much as Beau does, so I don’t really pay attention to the activity tracker, but when we went zip lining in Costa Rica, I was able to see just how terrified I am of heights when my heart rate reached 174 bpm. This has also helped keep me aware of what my heart rate is on a daily basis as I know higher bpm can be a cause for concern. (And beau and I are always competing to see who has a lower heart rate even though it’s always him.)
If you’re like me and you love getting on instagram and looking at your pictures, the Apple Watch affords you the opportunity to do so, but the interface is much different than on your phone.
With the watch app on your iPhone, you are also able to customize your watch faces. I tend to gravitate towards the bright pretty colors whereas Beau leans more towards the monochromatic, simple faces. The watch app also gives you the opportunity to learn more and do more with your watch.
Now, while my phone doesn’t have cellular abilities without my phone, when I am anywhere near my phone and get a phone call, I can answer it on my watch. I also get all notifications on my watch as well which can be a little bothersome at times, as my watch will vibrate but it will not pop up on my phone until I actually open my messages, but it’s always less obvious when you’re in a busy meeting and can do a quick glance down at your watch!
Also, when your watch is off, you can put a passcode on it that must be entered before you get into the watch just like your phone!
There are so many neat features on this Apple Watch, that I really encourage you to get it if you’re on the fence about getting it! Now that I have it, I absolutely love it and am so happy my hubby got it for me!
You can find the 38 mm at target for $329 here (Rose Gold Watch)
